LED has a successor: PLEP

The well-known LED technology works on the basis of anode and a cathode, between which the jump of electrons from one energy level to another produces a light effect.

PLEP also consists of an anode and a cathode. However with PLEP, organic elements produce the luminous effect.

It is a CHIP that is quite different from the LED, with many advantages, the PLEP (Plane Light Emissor Polymer ) generates light based on an excitation of the organic elements on a plate of highly conductive elements (e.g. copper), this excitation is achieved when direct current passes through the organic elements, more photons/light per watt.
